Description:

This painting depicts a winter alpine landscape immersed in the stillness of twilight. In the foreground lies an expanse of compact, luminous snow, crossed by two parallel tracks that cut through the snow-covered surface and guide the viewer’s eye into the scene. On the sides, fir trees weighed down by snow emerge, rendered with careful attention to the cold winter reflections.

The background is dominated by a mountain range lit by the warm tones of the alpenglow: the peaks take on an intense orange hue, sharply contrasting with the darkening sky that announces the end of the day. The composition highlights the balance between the fading light of sunset and the deep shadows of dusk, creating a suggestive and silent vision of the snow-covered mountains.

Available with a 2 cm custom-made frame in antique fir wood, crafted in our restoration workshop.

The painting features some areas affected by paint loss in the past: these areas have been the subject of targeted conservation treatment, with color stabilization and reintegration fully respecting the original material. Therefore, slight signs of aging remain, perfectly consistent and typical of paintings from this period.
