Rietzer Grieskogel, Anton Dembinski

Mountain landscapes are a recurring theme in landscape painting and include views of rocky reliefs, snow-covered peaks, and alpine vegetation. The work depicts a mountain range with a dominant central summit, rendered with a textured impasto on panel and articulated through chromatic contrasts between earth tones, blues, and whites.

Description:

Oil painting on panel depicting an alpine landscape dominated by the snow-covered peak of the Rietzer Grieskogel, Austria. The scene is constructed through a substantial layering of material, with dense impasto and raised applications obtained with a palette knife. The pictorial surface displays an irregular texture, characterized by overlapping strokes and visible incisions in the pigment.
The composition features a central mountain with steep slopes defined by variations of blue, ochre, and white. On the left side are two slender trees positioned on a rocky hillside treated with deep greens and earth tones. The lower portion includes sparse vegetation and rock formations, while secondary peaks in the background are shaped through luminous contrasts.
Available with a custom-made 7 cm (2.75 in) antique fir wood frame produced in our restoration workshop.
