Blue Painted Chest
Measurements: H.52 – L.123 – P.61
Period: Early 19th century
Tyrolean painted chest entirely painted in teal blue. On the front there are two generous panels framed in red containing bouquets of flowers. On the lid and sides, other panels contain geometric and “faux marble” decorations in shades of blue and white. Onion legs.
Internally there is still the small compartment with a folding lid, which was used to contain candles or scented essences for linen. The small folding lid also serves to keep the large top of the chest open.
Beautiful lock with key, original and working.
Partially restored piece of furniture.
