Blue and Red Tyrolean Chest with Cups of Flowers
H. 75cm – W. 120cm – D. 61cm
Rare antique Tyrolean chest, entirely painted with blue and red bands.
The front has two blue backgrounds painted with vases of flowers, an extremely rich and varied decoration for the quantity and type of flowers; the vases are reminiscent of hearts with the names Jesus and Mary transcribed inside. In the same backgrounds a name is written, probably the original client, and the date on which the chest was painted, 1776.
The red bands are decorated with a marbled pattern, while the cornice of the lid features a geometric pattern.
On the sides we find a background texture that frames a simple geometric insert.
Inside, there is a storage compartment, which hides a secret inside made up of two drawers, accessible by lifting the side of the compartment from the inside.
The hardware is completely original.
Mobile not yet restored; it is possible to customize the desired degree of restoration and the interior layout, thanks to the intervention of our laboratory.
