Ancient and important walnut sideboard
COD: CR10 – H.220 – L.170 – P. 55
Large and important sideboard, not yet restored, entirely made of walnut wood, has two large doors in the lower part, a first row of drawers, and a second of smaller drawers, surmounted by shelves for objects, three doors in the upper part. The central compartment is asymmetrical and, on the right side, has a large space where it is possible to house a sculpture or a large vase. All doors, drawers and jambs are embellished with boxwood and ebonized wood threads, initials and inlaid religious symbols on the upper doors. In the central room there is the date of construction (1763) always in inlay. All hinges, vents, locks and keys are original of the time. In the photo you can see a part of the door missing, but the piece has been preserved and the original will be restored. Switzerland XVIII
