Description:
Antique Tyrolean chest of drawers, dated 1840, made of solid fir wood—an essence particularly appreciated in alpine areas for its lightness and ease of working. The structure is solid and compact, resting on slightly shaped bracket feet.
The piece features three large front drawers, each enriched with original painted decorations: delicate bouquets and vegetal compositions in natural tones, now gently patinated by time but still vivid. The drawer frames are crafted with a distinctive painted faux inlay in a herringbone pattern, adding movement to the surface and enhancing the front of the furniture.
The top section has two panels, also decorated with floral motifs, framed by a soft red painted fillet. In the center, the name of the original owner and the date of construction are inscribed.
The handles are made of chiseled metal, circular in shape with central knob escutcheons, worked in relief and original to the piece. Each drawer has a pair of side handles and a central element, emphasizing the strict symmetry typical of early 19th-century Tyrolean furniture.
The surface of the chest displays a pleasing patina, with signs of use that add charm to its appearance. Overall condition is excellent. Two small hidden drawers inside.
