Description:

Oil on canvas by Karl Maria Lechner. This artwork depicts a summer mountain view articulated across multiple perspective planes. In the foreground, the terrain is divided into meadow sections with warm brown tones and autumn vegetation, with a group of trees defining the right edge of the composition. The central portion features a reflecting body of water, set in a valley that slopes down towards the valley floor. The background is occupied by the profile of mountainous massifs, partially snow-capped, defined with a rich, textured application of paint that accentuates their volume and depth, standing out against a sky streaked with stratified clouds.
