Description:
Single-door painted wardrobe crafted in solid fir wood, featuring a rectangular architectural structure with rounded front corners. The piece rests upon flattened bun feet and is crowned by a prominent moulded cornice.
The pictorial decoration of the door is arranged across three main overlapping reserves, bordered by polygonal frames and polychrome filleting:
The upper reserve encloses a floral urn with tulips and stylized blossoms set against a rich teal background, enhanced by geometric details and a trellis pattern with dotted intersections.
The central reserve showcases a narrative figurative scene set within a rural landscape featuring buildings, trees, and figures in period attire.
The lower reserve displays a radial geometric motif with polychrome rays, centered around an urn filled with floral elements.
The rounded front corners and cornice display a vertical pattern featuring geometric interlace and painted cartouche accents. The sides of the wardrobe are adorned with faux geometric marquetry panels that simulate intersecting wood grains and reserves.
The original hand-wrought iron hardware includes an interior lock with a shaped, embossed counter-plate, paired with a coeval key. The pictorial surface retains its warm original patina, featuring natural casein pigments and a refined beeswax finish.
