Description:

Elegant Venetian bedside cabinet from the mid-18th century, crafted in solid walnut with internal structure and carcass in fir wood, in line with the traditional craftsmanship of Northern Italian workshops of the period. The piece is distinguished by its “urn-shaped” front, featuring a gently curved and slightly tapered line toward the base.

The top surface is likewise shaped and molded, with a bullnose edge profile, enhancing the cabinet’s fine craftsmanship. The front is articulated in three vertical sections: the uppermost contains a drawer, shaped to follow the profile of the cabinet and fitted with a brass drop handle.

Beneath the drawer is a door that opens to reveal a storage compartment equipped with a shelf.

The base is defined by a boldly molded and scalloped plinth, echoing the curves of the façade, and rests on flattened bun feet, providing both structural stability and a refined decorative balance. This lower section is extendable, transforming the piece into a kneeler, discreetly integrated within the overall structure.

The cabinet retains its original patina, with a shellac finish that highlights the rich grain of the walnut.
