Description:

Elegant two-door wardrobe in spruce wood dating back to the late 18th century. The sides feature beveled edges, and the top cornice is distinguished by a central raised section with broken lines, lending a bold character to the piece. The surface is adorned with floral paintings framed in panels, depicting stylized flower vases in shades of red, green, and ochre on an ivory background. The body of the wardrobe is painted in a light blue typical of 18th-century Alpine furniture. Inside one door, there is a German inscription reading “Emanuel Erd 1837 übermalt,” meaning “repainted by Emanuel Erd in 1837”: this indicates a second layer of decoration applied over an earlier one, likely damaged over time and still partially visible upon close inspection. The ironwork is in excellent condition—original and fully functional. The interior latches and the lock are particularly elegant and finely crafted.
